Sophia Lapico is a Detroit based illustrator and graphic designer, with a love for branding, creating unique projects as a “designastrator.” She finds her inspiration from a wide range of sources such as books, music, and art history. She is especially drawn to designers who illustrate, and illustrators who design, notably the iconic works created by Push Pin studios. Milton Glaser’s approach has been influential to her work, as she admires the way he works between the two spaces. She primarily creates works in the areas of branding, publishing, and editorial. Working in these fields, she aspires to become an art director, and expand her practice into new territories and grow as a creative professional. Outside of art and design, she has an obsession with travelling and makes sure to visit the art gallery in every city she visits.
